![]() First off - Whats the difference between a 4 channel controller that has DVS included and a 4 channel controller that only supports DVS. Ty for your summary! There are a couple of things i didnt quite grasp yet. And often you’ll still have to pay an extra $100 to activate DVS. That will probably be the most expensive route to take just because controllers with extra channels tend to be much pricier than lower end controllers that support only 2 channels. There are options here for Serato or Rekordbox. There are also controllers that support 4 channels (so it’s a controller but extra channels on the mixer so you can connect extra devices such as turntables or CDJs). You can check out the current list of Rekordbox DVS compatible mixers right here. Rekordbox DJ does support DVS also (but personally I think you’ll like Serato a bit better for mixing with vinyl). The main benefit of a controller in this situation is you can get one for under $300 that’ll work well - but a baseline mixer with DVS is going to be $350 on the low end (and if you’re going that route I’d spend more).įor mixing with vinyl, I’d recommend Serato DJ Pro, and you can start looking at supported mixers here. It’s all going to depend on your budget though. Or a cheap mixer and then a DVS box, but I’d avoid that if possible and just get a good mixer from the start. What you need is a mixer that is DVS enabled. If you’ve already got a pair of techniques, I’d probably just start with them instead of getting a controller. It's also very possible to dj off one turntable if you're using software so you could conceivably just get a DVS mixer and play off a single deck. There are also a number of mixers with traktor scratch compatibility here: įor rekordbox, you have a couple options for controllers - the RR and up, the xdj rx2, or the Djm 250 mk2, djm400 and up. My recommendation would be the Pioneer DDJ SR2 if you're looking for a full controller.įor traktor, your options are very limited - either the s4 or the s8 (or the z2 for a straight mixer). ![]() Keep in mind that most require the paid DVS license and some also require the pad serato dj license (you can get both in a discounted bundle).īeginner controllers don't support DVS so you'd need to go at least mid-level and even then, a lot of the older ones don't support DVS. Here's a list of all serato controllers and mixers that support DVS.
